a sojourn among the fireworks

this fall has been spectacular. i used to hate fall because, to me, it was nothing but death. that was the kind of fall where one day the trees would be green, the next day it would snow. the leaves would be colorful for about three days, until the snow drove them off. and until it really started to snow, things would be muddy and frosty and grey and skeletal and it just depressed me.

however. fall has progressed slowly this year, and i have loved it. the mountains are on fire! the sky has been so blue and i've just wanted to be outside all day long lately. so me and two friends and a dog went up the canyon and took pictures and enjoyed the weather and it was unreal.
