i am a disciple of noah webster.



okay not really. i barely know the guy.
but.
i got this little brown journal for $5 at wal-mart on thursday and am keeping all the new words i learn in it. i was tired of hearing or reading new words, text-googling the definition, and then forgetting about them.
not the most effective way to learn, i thought.
so.
i started it. and so far i have documented 19 new words learned in 3 1/2 days.

like:
frangible, sirocco, estuary, flensing, etiolate, lambent, stratify, wastrel, stridulation, tincture, turgid, hagiography, fontanelle, patronymics, rapaciously, insouciant, sere, excoriate, and apophthegm.

i love it.

also i finished pilgrim at tinker creek by annie dillard. it was incredibly beautiful and helped me begin to learn to see. i highly, higherly, highestly recommend it.
