really.
and i mean that sincerely.
oh stop! stop it! you know it's true! don't be modest!
sometimes this time-wasting comes in such handy. like right now. i desperately, passionately, incredibly, wonderfully, terribly, gingerly, thoughtfully, verily, perfectly, beautifully, wildly, DEFINITELY need to write this awful awful paper that's due tomorrow. but i got stuck on my way. actually, i can't really say it was on my way. more like i got stuck before i left the driveway. confession? i skipped class today to work on it (technically i skipped two, but it doesn't really count because i found out afterwards that my first class was canceled anyway) and DIDN'T. i slept in much longer than i needed to, took my sweet time getting ready, went to lunch with p & e, came home, slept again, woke up, went to the temple with p & e & d & l & v & m (who leaves on his mission TOMORROW!) and went out to ice cream with the same and then came home and have sat on the computer for quite some time doing absolutely nothing. but my brain has jammed. i could go read the conference ensign (in fact, that's what i really want to do right now) or read my anthropology book or write letters to a missionary (that probably won't write me back anyway!!) or go for a walk in the cold, but instead i sit here on the computer because i feel guilty and i hope that maybe if i stay on here long enough i'll finally be motivated to open up a word document and a google search tab and find some extremely relevant and interesting topic about the environment i could write about for 8 pages.
seriously. this always happens to me. i should get diagnosed for it. whenever something really needs to be done that i really don't want to do, creativity just explodes inside me and i spend too much time daydreaming, telling myself stories, wanting to be outside or with my friends, my head in the clouds or deep below my feet instead of at the task at hand. ADD? no, i don't think so. more like AMD. attention motivation disorder.
come on!! i have more self control than this!!! just do it!! just find a topic and write a bunch of crap on it and turn it in!! it's only a rough draft!!! how terrible could it really be??
eh........... maybe i'll go get a granola bar and read the ensign......... and wait for 8:00 to come around when ashley will come over to skype melissa at 9:00. gah. 1 hour, 45 minutes.
how is everyone else so dedicated? to their classes? i mean, i'm fairly dedicated to the ones i find interesting..... fairly so.............
okay. this post is as scattered as my brain right now. the things i want you to get out of this.
1. the temple is fantastic. and beautiful. i can't wait to go again. new year's resolution: make it a habit to go every week, as often as i can.
2. i really wish i didn't have to be without these marvelous boys for 2 years. (shh. don't tell them i said something that cheesy about them.)
3. i can not even wait for next year. i will have the best roommates ever. we'll cook beautiful meals and decorate our pad so chic so chic.
4. toronto, mexico, colombia, california, and a bunch of other places not quite known yet: they're lucky to have you guys.
5. i have absolutely NO upper-body strength. evidence? sore arms today from carrying my groceries home yesterday.
6. i would really like to see some serious snowfall. my wardrobe is equipped, and my mind is ready for the whiteness and that feeling you get when you wake up in the morning and the light is just a little bit different outside the window even though the blinds are closed and you know, somehow, that it snowed in the night.
7. classical music is so therapeutic.

I don't think you're talking about holly when you say cook beautiful meals, unless you count a nightly ritual of rice krispie treats in a pyrex measurer beautiful. However, decorating sounds much more like that little one.
ReplyDeleteoh. we'll teach her.
