the finishing of a christmas carol. the last-minute shopping. the ward christmas eve tradition. the orange and chocolate-filled gift bags. the luminaries. the family walk. the humiliating the dog with new, torturous christmas clothing. the big family dinner (blessed blessed filet mignons tonight). the alabama christmas tape playing. the christmas eve pajamas. the christmas lights drive. the it's a wonderful life tradition. the dragging out the mattresses and sleeping by the tv tradition. the midnight mass tonight. the waking up at 7 and calling the house phone to wake up the parents. the present divvying and opening. the grandparents' breakfast.
it's the only way to spend christmas to me, and i can't imagine spending it your way. but then, you can't imagine spending it my way, can you?
well, that's what i love about it, i guess.
