before i go to finish this paper (that should not be taking me this long, holy crap procrastination), i just had to share this with the blogworld.

this is my transcription of evan's summary of the odyssey, which he so kindly provided me tonight because i neglected to actually read the thing, and i have a paper due tomorrow on it.

this is what late-night studying and doing assignment after assignment and stress and poor eating habits and just being redheaded does to you. be prepared.

Plot: stuck on an island with what’s her name. after troy. Nymph. Calypso. 20 yrs. Or something. Lover. Forcefully lover. Something happens. Calypso builds a ship. Poseidon destroys ship. Almost dies. Popular with nymphs. Shoreline, something I can’t spell. People. Naked. Terrible. Wild man. Princess bathes and eats w/ king and stuff. Tells the story…. Begins w/ end of troy and his adventures. Raids and his men want to stay, some set sail and escape, go places: go with king of winds, bag of treasure only for odysseus controls all the winds, get w/in view of home, men are curious about bag, winds released blown back to islands, king is mad, and then they meet Cyclops who eats many of them and then odysseus does something, and then all the other stuff happens because posiedon hates o, sirciesfkj the witch turns them into pigs and then o. threatens her and overcomes her drugs and then she wants to love him and then he says okay and then she turns everyone back into humans, need to leave, have to go to the land of the dead and odysseus goes and talks to dead seer and he gives him a prophecy, talks to agamennfo and Achilles and stuff. And then um more trials, more eating, more water dangers, whirlpool, everyone dies, except o. on calypso’s island, and frame. THNEkfs odysseus goes home because those kids like his story and drop him off w/ riches and wakes up and says meh I’m home and meets Athena and then she changes him into an old man and then he meets his sheepherder and then reveals himself to his son and then they plot to destroy suitors beggar at his own house for a little while and then his wife is being nice so he lives there aj jahlsdf more boring stuff and finally um come up with a way to decide between the suitors. Stringing odysseus’s bow which no one can do except odysseus and then the beggar gets up and tries and starts shooting people and telemakdlak helps and everyone is dead and finds maids who have been sleeping w/ suitors and then he hangs them because they’re women then they tie up one of the herds and stuff and then he is changed back into odysseus sometime and Athena helps him kill people and he goes back to Penelope and then she’s bitter and then she decides to trick him and then they are okay. And then he visits his dad, families of suitors and then Athena says stop. And then they are all okay.
