PenPen

My dog is an imbecile.
She has ran away twice in the past three days. Luckily she's been returned home safe and sound both times (once by a neighbor and once by her own superior orienteering abilities.) But that doesn't make her any less of an imbecile.
Sometimes I wonder what happens to her when she's out wandering and we're out looking and making contingency plans for a new (hopefully smarter) dog if she doesn't return. (You have to think realistically, right?) You know, things like who does she encounter? Where does she trespass? What does she eat and where does she drink from? Upon whose lawns does she deign to defecate? What other dogs/cats/chickens/alpacas (yes we have some in the neighborhood and she's always seemed so curious about them) does she smell and lick and chase and be chased by? Which people are nice to her, and which are cruel? Where will she sleep if she doesn't return home all night?
And all I can think about, in answer to all those questions, is this.
