accoutrements

i finally got film for my canon af35 camera i got for $7 at savers. the battery lid has to be duct taped closed and i have to hold the camera a certain way for the batteries to even work, but it seems like it works okay. we'll see once i get this film developed.

today i was walking in the hfac and saw a really cute guy straddling a bench with a two feet x two feet pad of paper in front of him. he was bent over with serious intensity, penciling a portrait of someone, his nose sometimes only inches from the paper. i had kim stand a little in front of him and pull the old "pretend i'm taking a picture of you and i'll really take a picture of him" trick. the shutter is incredibly loud on this camera and he looked up, but i just wanted to say to him, "don't you think it was worth it, for the art's sake?"
