airborne

this post isn't really about swine flu either, but guess what?!
i am sick.
my lungs have 40 lb. weights attached to each one. my throat feels like i've swallowed a fork. a woolen fork. my glands (revolting word) feel like baseballs.
secretly.... i've felt this way all week. but i wanted to start my lazy weekend early, and so i decided to tell my parents today and sleep in for a few hours and try and finish my book before i have to start jane eyre for ap lit. plus, if it was a tad belated, i figured i probably shouldn't be at school in case it's the prelude to the flu of pigs. since all of a sudden everybody's getting it at my school.
however, i am hoping my preventative efforts will drive any swiney emissaries away.

okay so good news moment. is right. now.
background info: the lovely holly (known on the bowling lanes as humbug) gave me a mountain of music a few months or two ago. okay. well actually it was from her sister. but anyway. the point being that i have been engrossed in these 90-something new songs, and have abandoned all efforts to acquire new music while i've been overwhelmed with these gems of auditory bliss. however, and understandably, i hope, i've recently been a-hankerin' after some new stuff. and my hankerin' has not been in vain. for, i just was informed, i should soon be receiving three (3, thr33, 7HR33) new cds from various pals.

1.the where the wild things are soundtrack. known on the streets of my hood as indie-love-beauty-childhood-friendship-musical-beauty.

2.the sweeney todd (swiney tood?) soundtrack. full of sondheim-musical mischief and johnny depp. really. what more could you ask for?

3.i'll tell you what. mae's second of three EPs they are releasing this year, called (a)fternoon. (the first one was called (m)orning, the last one will be (e)vening. clever, eh? i thought so.)

well i think i'm off to go read on the couch again and maybe fall asleep. if this is swine, i will probably kill myself to death.
