peppermint tea

reasons why my classes this semester make me feel that anticipation-excitey balloon feeling inside:

music 202:
3. my professor made a soprano joke. (cue high school/jr. high choir nostalgia.)
2. we talk about music in terms of arpeggiations and modulations and tonics. (cue ap music theory nostalgia.)
1. my professor has an australian accent.
astronomy:
3. the planetarium/the observing projects.
2. my professor is a determined, dry, takes-no-crap-from-you-smart-a-freshmen kind of lady, which i admire.
1. there's a super adorable redhead boy that i get to creep on.
creative writing:
3. my professor is like ms. woolsey but happier and slightly more passionate. (for the lone-peak-ers out there who know who i'm talking about, you'll understand what i'm saying and possibly be astonished by at least half of it.)
2. the people in that class read. and i mean really read. none of that sarah dessen marathons in the summer, "i-don't-have-time-for-reading-for-fun-in-college-but-i've-read-harry-potter-before-and-i-read-my-textbooks-quite-faithfully-and-i-really-like-the-twilight-movies-because-jacob-black-is-so-darn-hot" kind of read. i mean the "i-don't-have-time-for-college-because-i-read-for-fun-and-if-you'd-let-me-i'd-go-on-for-hours-about-how-magnificent-harry-potter-is-and-james-joyce-and-walt-whitman-are-authors-that-really-get-me-hot-and-bothered-and-twilight-is-naught-but-a-blip-on-the-metaphorical-radar" kind of read. which is a.) super humbling, as it calls to attention my severe lack of knowledge and b.) absolutely thrilling, as i'm finally among kindred spirits (and for all of you who know me, well, let's just say that doesn't happen often.)
1. it is everything i've been looking forward to all year long, and might even be more. (knockonwood.)
new testament:
3.there's this girl with a crocheted headphone cover and i am planning on asking her where she got it/if, and if so, then how she made it.
2. e and d are in that class with me.
1. my professor is magnificent. witty and ridiculous and happy and spiritual.
book of mormon:
1. well, there's really not much to say about this one, it's one of those "meh-i-don't-really-have-an-opinion-about-you" kind of classes. but i guess the best one is that two of my roommates are in it with me which is delightful.
voice:
3. my professor is funny and talented and nice and knows her stuff.
2. one of the solo options is blue skies. no way i'm passing that up.
1. kim is in that class with me--we breathe deeply and sing opera together and it is a beautiful thing.

and those are the reasons why i simply had to give in and post the obligatory let-me-tell-you-about-every-single-class-i-have-this-semester-because-you-are-all-really-interested post.
my
semester
is
going
to
rock.
(knockonwood.)

over the hill -- agnes obel
how high the moon -- ella fitzgerald
norwegian wood -- the beatles
